Scotch Whisky
Glenfiddich resurrects the lost tradition of maturation in rum casks with the Gran Reserva 21 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky. Rum distillers from Sancti Spiritus, near the Sierra del Escambray in the heart of Cuba, worked with the Glenfiddich Malt Masters to develop this unique Cuban rum finish. Glenfiddich decant casks of Cuban rum at the distillery and refill them with 21 Year Old Glenfiddich to absorb the unique character lingering in the wood. The aged and infused Single Malt is then bottled at the precise moment when the unmistakable Glenfiddich flavour reveals a new and vibrant overtone.

The 'Made without Compromise' motto on the Glenfiddich bottle rings true when one experiences the stubborness of the maltsters as they adhere to practices long since deserted by many of their contemporaries. These passionate whisky makers firmly believe that direct-fired stills and large tuns, where the various casks are married, make a difference, and that the time spent adds value to the final product. From the maltmen through to the warehousemen, you can see that everyone at Glenfiddich takes pride in their association with the brand.
Glenfiddich Gran Reserva 21 Year Old claimed the coveted GOLD Medal at this year's International Wine & Spirit Competition. An intense and sweet Malt Whisky with enthralling aromas, quite floral with hints of banana, toffee, leather and oak. Well balanced, with the rum at no point overwhelming the whisky, the flavour is initially soft, then brisk, vibrant and drying. A touch of smoke, peppery, lime and spices, complimented by an exceptionally long, warming finish.
